Born Marcus Wayne Simpson on September 2, 1986, in Houston, Texas, Marcus Money grew up in a broken home marked by violence and substance abuse. He began writing in rhyme form at age 5, published poetry by age 10, and committed to a career in rap at 14.

Under the name "Real," he released four studio albums between 2006 and 2012, including Wicked City Don (2008), which sold 1,000 units in its first month, and Heart of the Hood (2009), which featured Houston legends K-Rino and Klondike Kat and achieved international distribution.

After serving 9 months in prison and overcoming a business failure in 2015, Marcus spent three years in personal rebuilding — becoming completely sober from drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. He re-emerged in 2018 as Marcus Money with a mission to inspire struggling youth through authentic music.

His 2024 releases include "Big Noise" featuring Project Pat and "Getting It In" featuring Lil' Flip. He has opened for 2 Chainz, Paul Wall, Scarface, and Bun B. His YouTube channel has amassed over 200,000 views, led by "Looking Our Way" ft. Royal Floz with 105,000+ views.

Today, Marcus operates Epik Recording Studios from Houston, providing recording, mixing, mastering, and production services to independent artists across the country. He is a solo parent, raising his autistic daughter while building a legacy on his own terms.
